2.6Lengthy, But A Must Read.Janice - Jun 29, 2017
While Hotel Colina is in a wonderful location, don't expect anything amazing. Where do I start? The rooms are cozy, but there are ants all over the place and flies permanently situated in the restroom. There's a...strange smell in the restroom, but it's not too off-putting. the views are nice, but be prepared to use a single AC unit. They don't have central air, so while you might keep the AC going all day to cool your room, the hallways and lobby are hot. Housekeeping is quick, but keep in mind, they are limited in their resources. Other than making the bed, taking out the trash, and sweeping, I doubt she did anything else. The showers are not sanitary at all, but it should be a given that shower shoes are necessary.
As far as the showers...the water pressure is poor. You'll get cold water for 5-7 minutes before it starts warming, but by then the water is slowing. The water stops flowing altogether after that. The towels aren't the cleanest and you won't get hand towels. Only large. As I said before, expect flies and ants.
You should also know that there are leaks ALL throughout the building. Be careful. I slipped on some water on the stairs (there was no hazard sign and the stairs were poorly lit) and really hurt myself. I was bruised in several places. The most disconcerting thing is that the hotel doesn't keep a first aid kit readily available. No one could do or say anything besides "are you okay." Thankfully I had a mind to pack my own first aid kit.
If I could redo this, I wouldn't book Hotel Colina. I realize that they do the best they can with the resources they have, and I hold nothing against them, but this experience was poor.
